A “bike bus” is an organized group families who ride bikes (and scooters!) to school together along a set route. Some families join at the beginning of the route, while others join along the way. It’s an amazing way to build community, foster independence and a can-do spirit in kids, and preach the benefits of safe routes to schools.
Our amazing local parent community hosts “bike buses” at Lincoln, Winthrop and Horace Mann Elementary Schools. Our bike buses are entirely volunteer-driven, and have been featured in the Melrose Weekly News, CBS Boston, and NBC10 Boston. Our young riders have been joined by local teachers, school administrators, elected officials, and our local police department!
