This week, the Melrose Pedestrian & Bicyclist Committee was honored to receive a “Community Collaboration Award” through the MassDOT Safe Routes to School Program. These awards recognize the Program’s partner schools, community champions, stakeholders, and Crossing Guards who have made significant contributions within their communities by strengthening, promoting, and improving safety for students walking, biking and rolling to and from school.
We are grateful for the recognition and thank MassDOT, our partners at Safe Routes to School, to Rep Kate Lipper-Garabedian for her efforts in recognizing our achievements, and to our incredible friends at the Horace Mann Bike Bus for all they do in their school community to promote and build excitement around safe biking to school!
